Who/what got you interested in modeling?

I have always had an interest in modeling since I was about 12. But it wasn’t until August of 2009 when I saw a really good swimsuit shot of myself taken by Joel Pierre, that I really sparked my interest. And since then I have networked with a lot of people and have been able to take part of so many opportunities.

What’s your biggest accomplishment to date, explain why?

I think my biggest accomplishment to date will be the Emmanuel College Impulse Fashion Show; produced by Roystone Martinez, that I will be walking in on March 26, 2010. We have been practicing hard for it for months and it will be the biggest show I have ever done thus far. I’m nervous, excited, but totally pumped!

Where do you see yourself 5 yrs from now?

Honestly, I cant answer that question because there are so many things that I am interested in, and could see my self doing. I have so many options that even I don’t know where I’ll be. I do want to travel though! I am an International Affairs Major at Suffolk University, so I hope to go somewhere with that.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Classy. sexy. and comfortable!

What style of clothes do you admire on a man?

I love to see guys dressy or a clean preppy look. I am not really a fan of sneakers, so if they can pull off a look without them, I’ll love it!

What would you say is your sexiest feature?

My eyes.

Who/what got you interested in modeling?

For the most part my Family, But I’d have to say the one and only Tyra Banks. I’ve followed her career as a young girl and she really influenced me and my decision to want to pursue modeling. She’s accomplished so much and made an empire for herself.

What’s your biggest accomplishment to date, explain why?

I’m so grateful for every opportunity that has come my way. Becoming  a Finalist for Americas Next Top Model Cycle 11 was great. But I’d have to Say Being crowned Miss Boston 2009 was by far the greatest. I’ve done numerous fashion shows, charity Events, Fundraisers, etc   throughout Boston for the past few years, and I really worked my bum off! And to be crowned Miss. Boston to represent for my city, is by far  the icing on the cake.

Where do you see yourself 5 yrs from now?

5years…Ill be 28! OMG! Defiantly have a family of my own by then, and I’d like to Open my own or Co-Own a Modeling Agency. Because there is so much talent that is not recognized and id love to give someone the opportunity to reach for the stars.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My Style defiantly Changes for day to day. One day I can be completely glam or dressed down. But overall “Sophisticated Chic” and BLACK! I love black, Blazers and Skinny jeans and really High pumps! Most of the time Ill be in black from head to toe. With lots of chunky gold/silver accessories.

When did you realize that you have an interest in modeling?

In 1995, when the tragic death of Selena Quintanilla, who was the Queen of Tex Mex. (Singer).

You were Miss Massachusetts Latina in 2006, how was the experience?

It was such a great experience because of the traveling I did, I also did community service for the children at Shriners Hospital, and awarded after being crowned Miss Mass by the governor Deval Patrick.

What other accomplishments have you had to date?

I finally did 3 commercials, and as of now I’m just waiting to meet 30 agents and hoping to sign a contract by February 2010.

What type of modeling work do you prefer?

I prefer to do advertisements and commercial model because it is more exciting and enjoyable doing them.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I describe my fashion a Classic and chic.

What’s one clothing item you think every girl should have in her closet?

Every lady out there needs to have a very classy and elegant black dress.

Outside of modeling, what else interest you?

I love acting, being a hairstylist, wedding planner, and reading books.

Who/what motivates you to be the person you are today?

My past experience and what keeps me motivated everyday is my daughter Josairys Ruby Martinez (20 months)!

What do you like most about this holiday (Christmas) season?

What I like the most about Christmas is spending time with all of my family and good friends. The lovely dinner and obviously the gifts.

If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?

I would change people suffering from hunger!

Who/what got you interested in modeling?

I’ve been interested in modeling since I was young, about 11 or 12. I remember going to a audition for what turned out to be a modeling school. I remember walking the runway and loving it. Though my family couldn’t afford to put me in the program the reps wanted me to sign-up. Since then I’ve always felt that I could actually make it modeling. My desires have expanded beyond only the scope of modeling, I am also interested in commercial acting, fashion design, styling, make-up and hair design. I like to consider myself a fashionist.

What’s your biggest accomplishment to date, explain why?

Turning 27, living independently, (without child*) holding myself down with a M.S. degree and looking towards starting my Doctarate degree in Anthropology very soon. I must make this next move in my education to assist me in living a more fulfilled life. Being fulfilled for me is to assist in making life a little easier or more joyfull for others who deserve it. I don’t feel my biggest accomplishment has come to date. There is much more to come . *Nothing wrong with having kids at my age*

Where do you see yourself 5 yrs from now?

Five years from now I see myself gearing up to complete my PhD. From there I will be moving onto bigger and better things.

Who/what got you interested in modeling?

When I was little my mother put me in pageants, then by age 6 I quit because a lot of money goes into. After college, I was like “You know what” I’m going to find a way to get in without paying these talent agencies!” You should never put your own money. Now a year and a half later I got signed to a few agencies.

What’s your biggest accomplishment to date, explain why?

My biggest accomplishment is getting this far in such short time. I got in to Maxim Hometown Hottie, Mercedes Benz Fashion week in Miami. Boston Fashion week 08 & 09. I got in to a few publications, including the Boston Herald, Nulinx Magazine Model of the Month, MSM Magazine cover, and spread. Being the first lady of STR8UP Entertainment & Records.

What would you like to be doing five years from now?

Hopefully in five years, I will have a successful career, and hopefully my store is running strong, its a music meets fashion store “Exclusives” located in Worcester, MA. This is a branch of STR8UP Ent. & Records, to give opportunities to local artists, celebrities, and local designers, as well showcasing top name brand clothing.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I’m a chic girl, and really depends how I feel that day, but I dress according to the weather. Very hip. I do all sorts of style rocker, glamor, urban, chic.

What would you say is your sexiest feature?

My stomach! I love it, since I don’t work out it stays in fit! LOL!

What advice would you give someone who is interested in entering the modeling industry?

I’ve said this before, just don’t sit there and wait , because nothing is going to come to you. You need to work hard, and if you really want it, it will come eventually.

Who/what got you interested in modeling?

Growing up, my mom always had magazines in the house. I remember going through the pages of Elle and Vogue studying the models, what they wore, the makeup, their poses, everything. I admire the art in the beauty of modeling. I never thought I could be a model since I am short. Melissa Jones (my best friend) inspired me to pursue modeling. She was a featured model on rhoamingparties.com. She is a beautiful person who is as pure as she looks. So, we were on the phone and she asked me why don’t I REALLY pursue modeling. Since that moment on, I went all in. I never gave myself any other choice but to be a model. Without her I wouldn’t be where I am at now.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I will have had spreads in many magazines, launched my lingerie line, My acting career will be blossoming…stay tuned for the rest ..can’t tell you everything.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Creative…I always alternate the clothes I wear or wear it in a way that was not thought of or generally worn. I cannot really say I have one specific style…one day I will dress like dancer, and then in business attire, You might see me in skater clothes, all black or full of color. I might wear lace or leather…but I do love accessories. It depends on my mood for the day or shall I say character…lol.

What style of clothes do you admire on a man?

Another hard question…hehe…I find many different styles on a man attractive. skinny jeans are cute so are baggy. I love sneakers but I love boots too. Basketball shorts are sexy but so is a suit. I admire all styles, whether it is rocker, urban, athletic, business…just as long as you can rock it. I think boxer briefs are hot…just kidding!

Who or what inspired you to become a model?

Originally it was one of my dads old friends who brought it up to me that it was something i could and should do. I never envisioned myself as a model but I gave it a shot and fell for it.

How long have you been modeling and what are your future goals

Ive been modeling for 6 years now in both New York and Boston markets. What I am working towards is establishing myself as model and household name. I wanna enjoy this industry as long as my youth allows me. People take this for granted and they also take it too seriously, I am having some fun. In the end I wanna own my own boutique. its in the works so look out for it.

What type of modeling work do you do?

The type of modeling I do right now is runway work and promotional work. I am working on booking more tear sheets and publications.

Who are your biggest influences in the industry and why?

I’ve watched Super model Jessica White while growing up.She inspired me. Some people look at her as an under dog but shes amazing. What people don’t see is that this woman works and she does it effortlessly with so much class. Shes a natural beauty. She may not be publicized as much but thats why I like her. I am not in it for the fame.

Most memorable moment that you can think of about your model career?

A memorable moment for me is finally getting some recognition of my talent by winning the Smartwater for Top Model competition. I won an all expenses paid trip to LA and received recognition in many articles in numerous news papers and magazines (The Herald and Boston globe). My mom was proud.
