Who/what got you interested in modeling?
I’ve been interested in modeling since I was young, about 11 or 12. I remember going to a audition for what turned out to be a modeling school. I remember walking the runway and loving it. Though my family couldn’t afford to put me in the program the reps wanted me to sign-up. Since then I’ve always felt that I could actually make it modeling. My desires have expanded beyond only the scope of modeling, I am also interested in commercial acting, fashion design, styling, make-up and hair design. I like to consider myself a fashionist.
What’s your biggest accomplishment to date, explain why?
Turning 27, living independently, (without child*) holding myself down with a M.S. degree and looking towards starting my Doctarate degree in Anthropology very soon. I must make this next move in my education to assist me in living a more fulfilled life. Being fulfilled for me is to assist in making life a little easier or more joyfull for others who deserve it. I don’t feel my biggest accomplishment has come to date. There is much more to come
. *Nothing wrong with having kids at my age*
Where do you see yourself 5 yrs from now?
Five years from now I see myself gearing up to complete my PhD. From there I will be moving onto bigger and better things.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I’d describe my fashion style as unique and creative. I really look for the right fit on myself and when I style others. I love taking clothes that I buy and adjusting it to my style, whether it’s a shirt or an accessory. I’ve been playing with fabric and clothes since I was young. At about 12 or 13 years old I made an outfit for a doll of mine. It was little black shorts with an open spilt in the front of a long skirt and a small tank top. I swear not too long after making the outfit I saw Salt-n-Pepper rocking it in one of their videos. That is the first memories I remember that I knew I had a fashion sense. I currently have some designs I drafted in college with the dream/goal to start a colthing line in my lifetime.
In your opinion what are the negatives and positives of modeling?
The negatives that I find about modeling is the deception of opportunities and selling of dreams that goes on to break into the scene. Also, the possibilities of being discovered especially in Boston is very small. For me the positives comes in form of personal rewards. Having the ability to respresent a respectable product and being able to influence the buyers feelings and perception of the product is what I enjoy most. Meeting new people is also a definite positive. It allows me to learn a lot about all aspects of fashion and beauty.
What would you say is your sexiest feature?
I have a hard time answering this question. I’ll let you be the judge of what’s the sexiest. I love a lot about my body, even my imperfections.
What beauty item will you never leave home without and why?
I don’t wear much make-up but I’d have to say lip gloss. You never know when a camera is going to go off
.
If you had to pick the ultimate photo shoot what and where would it be?
The ultimate photo shoot can only be brought to you by my girl Tyra Banks! It would have to be her as my photographer, her entourage for make-up, hair and styling. Her dream team is just what I would need to pull off the “ultimate photo shoot”. The place would have to be the Cape Verde islands, where we will find beautiful black and white sand beaches as well as beautiful waterfalls!!
How would your friends describe you?
My friends would describe me as crazy lol. A good crazy though, more like silly. They’d say I was confident and inspiring. I am humbled by my friends because they inspire me unknowingly. I think my friends may also describe me as loyal. Those who are my friend have been there for a long-time and there’s many more years to come. Love my girls!
If I give you a million bucks, what would you do with it?
This question is asked fairly often and after thinking about it I really would take about 3/4 of the money and invest it back into a deserving community. The decision would be between my hometown and the motherland (Africa-Cape Verde). Highest need will recieve highest priority.
Any Shout Outs?
Shout out to my Gods first and foremost, Eddy, Copina, Mikey, and Ruthy. Much love to my family, friends who have been there from the begining of time. Where ever I go I’m taking ya’ll with me. You too Profitt.
